Policies & Procedures

Solon Center for the Arts strives to be recognized as an effective and unique teaching and learning resource in the Solon community. The Center will be a leader in cultural enrichment and artistic quality, characterized by continuous improvement, innovation and community responsiveness. Through its programming, the Center will provide opportunities and reinforce appreciation of the arts, with the intent of maximizing the potential and enjoyment for all individuals.

SCA Hours of Operation

Monday - Thursday (9:00 am - 9:00 pm), Friday (9:00 am - 4:30 pm), Saturday (9:00 am - 2:30 pm) and Sunday (closed except for special events).

Summer Only:

Monday - Thursday (9:00 am - 8:00 pm), Friday (9:00 am - 4:30 pm), Saturday and Sunday (closed except for special events).

Important Inclement Weather Advisory

If the Solon Schools close due to inclement weather, SCA and SCA Studios will also be closed. Please check your local television stations (Channels 3, 5, or 8) for the most current closing information.

Cancellation - The Center reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient registration prior to the start of the semester. If you are enrolled in a cancelled class, you will be notified promptly and given the opportunity to move to another class (and pay or be refunded the tuition difference), to receive a gift certificate or to receive a refund.

Missed Private Lessons - To be eligible for a makeup lesson, students must notify the Center 24-hours prior to missing a lesson. Students will only be allowed one makeup lesson from September to December, one makeup lesson from January to June and one makeup lesson from June to August, with 24-hours notice. Makeup lessons will be scheduled by the instructor at a suitable time for both parties during the semester if possible; otherwise, they will be held at the end of the session. Emergency makeups are at the discretion of the instructor.

Refunds

A $5.00 service charge will be assessed on any refund. Refunds after the class begins on the first day will be given in the amount of 50% of the registration fee. After the first day of class, there is a no refund policy. Refunds are handled through the City of Solon Finance Department and may take up to 3-4 weeks to be processed.

Photography Policy - Photographs are occasionally taken of programs and class participants at Solon Center for the Arts. These photographs are used to promote Solon Center for the Arts’ programming in future editions of the catalogue and a variety of other publications. If you prefer that you or your child not be photographed, please notify us at the time of registration.
